Week 2 - weird universe

Star date 2446.968 - we've just encountered Klingons near Uranus....wierd....this isn't their part of the universe, what are they doing here?..........wierd, wierd, wierd!

Week 2 - causality

I have seen plenty of causality.....if one believes in this sort of thing. Playing sports, athletes think their "routine" is the cause or effect of a hitting streak, shooting streak, winning streak..... the list can go on and on. My personal favorites are the ones where athletes won't wash a uniform or pair of socks because "you don't *&^@ with a streak"......now do smelly socks have anything really to do with the particular streak, or is in all "in your head", depends on who you ask. Scientists will say no way......the athlete that is 15 for 20 in the last 4 games will tell you "take your science and shove it up your a@#, don't touch my socks, you don't #$%@ with a streak!"

Week 2 - Uncertainty

For as much uncertainty that surrounds what quantum particles do and are for that matter, there is just as much certainty on what they do when "we" decide what we want them to do. If we want to measure light as a wave....it's a wave, if we want to measure as a particle....yep, a particle. Measure particles in a clockwise motion, OK, clockwise.....or counter clockwise....sure why not! It seems the only certainty is we don't know what they are doing while "we" aren't watching them in the context that "we" want to. I like to think that they are sitting around drinking beer and watching football.....certainly a possibility!

Week 1 - I'm a jackass

I have no idea why i answered all the debate questions and not the quiz.....except that i'm a jackass! Now that we have established this fact, i will try to keep my jackassedness to a minimum.......is that a sugar cube?

Week 1 - parallel universes?

If every action has a separate and equal reaction - and in TCM we are to believe Yin and Yang theory - heaven and hell - freedom of speech and the right to privacy - civilized and uncivilized - seems to me everyone believes in one of these thoughts......so I think .....sure, why not a parallel universe.

Week 1 - Cultural implications of time?

I'm waiting to see why different cultures have had calenders that have been around for thousands of years that all end in 2012 - seems there might be HUGE implications!

Week 1 - slow down time?

Can we slow down time? Well....I think we can slow down the perception of time. Have you ever fell down and it felt like forever...seeing each drop of water or each blade of grass flying in front of you? (Of course I've only heard of this sort of thing since I have reflexes like a cat and have never experienced such a thing) It may only take a second in everyone else's version, but seems like minutes to whoever is falling.
